AN ORIGINAL DEEP PIERCED RELIEF CARVING

.
A deep pierced relief carving carved from a mahogany blank.

The original drawn pattern by Millard Harrell, woodcarver.

Carving almost completed - before the final shaping of the anchor.

A Pierced Relief Carving

The anchor is an emblem of a well grounded hope and a well-spent life.
It is emblematic of that Anchor which shall safely moor us in a peaceful Harbor where the wicked cease from troubling and the weary shall find rest.
The Saint Andrew Cross in the background is a reminder of the humility exhibited by St. Andrew upon his crucifixion and also our continued support of one another as we face our futures together in St. Andrew's Parish.

“Saint Andrew mot us speed.”

(The battle cry & prayer of the Battle of Bannockburn.  1318 AD)

SANTA & ELF WOOD SPIRIT

34844
.

Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat
Please do put a penny in the old man's hat
If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do
If you haven't got a ha'penny, then God bless you!

Millard is in the Christmas Spirit!
